Update summer 2016 — Khadro-la doing very well

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and offerings for Khadro Thrinley Wangmo, sister of H.E. Chagdud Rinpoche. After the extensive long-life pujas offered for her in 2015, Khadro appeared much stronger, and earlier this year was still in excellent spirits. We pray that she may long remain with us!

Khadro Thrinley Wangmo, the senior lama at Tenphel Gompa, spent most of her life at Tenphel Gompa where the young Chagdud Rinpoche also lived and did his first three-year retreat. The great-niece of Mipham Rinpoche, and renowned as a remarkable practitioner, Khadro Thrinley Wangmo was described by Tulku Arig of Nyoshul Gompa as a living Vajravarahi.

Throughout her life, including through decades of suffering and turmoil, Khadro Thrinley Wangmo has demonstrated extraordinary and selfless activity, as detailed in some chapters of Chagdud Rinpoche’s autobiography ‘Lord of the Dance‘. Her life and practice were closely intertwined with Chagdud Rinpoche’s, even though they were far apart for many years, and she has been an inspiration for the many Chagdud Gonpa lamas and sangha from the West who in more recent years were fortunate enough to meet her.
