Teachings and empowerments for bodhicitta, Guru Rinpoche, Riwo Sangchod, Vajrasattva, Vajrakilaya and Protectors
The Los Angeles center Chagdud Gonpa Thupten Ling is hosting Jigme Tromge Rinpoche from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd October 2017, for a series of events to which all are welcome.
Jigme Rinpoche will focus on the skillful means available to remove the many outer, inner and innermost (or secret) obstacles on our path to enlightenment. Through countless interactions with sentient beings over aeons, we have accumulated enormous amounts of karmic debt. Even with positive intention, our confused understanding of reality means we frequently cause harm to ourselves or others. This weekend of teachings guides beginner and advanced students through the methods we can apply to break through these destructive patterns.
Through developing bodhicitta, our compassion grows, and our attachment to self falls away, automatically reducing the harm we generate. Guru Rinpoche as the supremely powerful embodiment of all enlightened wisdom and intent guides us on this path. The practices of Vajrasattva and Riwo Sangchod are extremely focused approaches for purifying karmic obscurations on all levels. Then, there may be obstacles which are difficult to tame through peaceful, increasing or magnetizing practices. The wrathful practice of Vajrakilaya (Dudjom lineage) and the protector practices that draw on support from both worldly and wisdom beings can both give us the potential to overcome such obstacles. With clear instruction from Rinpoche, we can put together all these practices in a coherent manner, and with diligence and joy we can defy the constraints of our worldly activities and distractions to find our way to freedom.

10/21 – Sat 9:30am to 5pm – Vajrasattva Empowerment & Teachings (9:30am – noon; 2:30 – 5pm)
10/22 – Sun, 9:30am to 5pm – Vajrakilaya Empowerment & Vajrakilaya/Protector Teachings (9:30am – noon; 2:30 – 5pm)
Events will take place at Eagle Rock Shambhala Center, 963 Colorado Blvd, LA 90041. The Thursday 19th evening teaching will be held in the Main Shrine Hall, and Friday through Sunday events will be held in Shotoku room, which is across from the main hall. Floor and chair seating will be provided (mostly floor).
